The Development Corporation Act of 1979 enables cities to establish an EDC to develop and start business enterprises. The San Benito Economic Development Corporation is a Type B EDC organization. It was created in 1995 by the City of San Benito, after citizens of San Benito voted to create it, to develop industries while cultivating community.
Our Mission is to promote, support and foster economic development within the San Benito community through new industry recruitment, business retention and expansion, business innovation, new business startups and entrepreneurship.
The San Benito EDC vision is to work collaboratively with San Benito’s leadership for the purpose of creating a vibrant, innovative and diversified city of choice for the City of San Benito’s visitors and residents.
